Maidstone and the Weald Liberal Democrats

Keep Full Maternity at Maidstone Facebook group - join the next stage of our campaign.

5.46.00pm GMT Tue 3rd Nov 2009

The facebook group set up by Peter Carroll has now reached over 3800 members. There are many stories of support and anger at the threatened closure posted on the wall. Many are very personal and show the real strength of feeling against this move.

Peter is now taking the campaign to the next level and is asking as many members of the facebook group as possible to meet outside Marks and Spencers on Week Street, Maidstone at 12 noon Saturday 7th November.

Peter said:

"Please bring along your babies, families and friends. The aim is to get a photograph of as many people as possible with the petition that I will be handing in to the Government demanding that the decision to downgrade Maidstone Maternity be reversed.

"I will be taking a copy of this picture with me when I hand in the petition and it will be used on the front of a leaflet that I intend to put out all across Maidstone letting people know how the campaign is progressing.

"Please, if you can spare just a few moments join me on Saturday."

If you would like to join the group, please follow the link on our home page: www.MaidstoneLibDems.org.uk or at the bottom of this article.
